Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron said that the city government considered bringing the investment forum to Taiwan and other neighboring countries in a bid to attract investments for Puerto Princesa City.
During the flag-raising ceremony Monday, he reported to the city officials and employees that the Investment Forum in Manila last week generated a total of P27.5 billion pledge.
The activity was initiated by the city government and assisted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Because of this, they mulled holding the investment forum in Taiwan and other nearby countries. He explained that the investments that the companies will pour into the city will definitely generate employment for the city residents and increase the city government’s income through local taxes.
He informed the city government officials and employees that he instructed Ms. Lorraine Banzuelo, the head of the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO), to proceed to his office right after the ceremony to discuss the next immediate steps and other plans in connection with the prospective investments.
He further explained that strategizing these next actions will help facilitate the investments and assist the businessmen and investors.
These investments are expected to contribute significantly to Puerto Princesa’s economy in the next five years.
