If everything goes as planned, DMCI Power Corporation will deploy generator sets to the Brooke’s Point substation with a generating capacity of not less than 5 megawatts in order to provide sufficient power supply in the town and the neighboring municipalities of Sofronio Española and Bataraza.

The resolution, authored by Board Members Hon. Ryan Maminta and Hon. Cesareo Benedito, Jr., was in response by a letter by Brooke’s Point Mayor Mary Jean Feliciano requesting DMCI to provide generator sets in the municipality due to the recent power outages that have been plaguing the area, especially one episode that lasted for almost 4 days.

But Board Member Eduardo Modesto V. Rodriguez questioned the measure especially that DMCI Power be contracted.

Rodriguez proposed that the resolution be subjected to further deliberation.

He wanted to summon resource people from DMCI Power, Palawan Electric Cooperative, National Power Corporation, and other power providers to ascertain the reliability of DMCI Power to supply electricity for Southern Palawan.

The proposed resolution was deferred for further deliberation.
