Sinabi ni Palawan Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer na si Atty. Noel Aquino na makakatulong ang mga bio-reactor o mga makinang composters at iba pang kagamitan ukol sa pagbabawas ng solid waste dito sa lalawigan ng Palawan kasama na ang lungsod sa Puerto Princesa.

Ito ay binigyang diin ni Atty. Aquino nitong nakaraang Biyernes sa isinagawang quarterly meeting ng Regional Ecology Center sa Legend Hotel na dinaluhan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR), representante ng City Environment and Natural Resources Office ng Puerto Princesa, at iba’t ibang stakeholders.

Dumalo sa nasabing pulong ang representante ng GreenDev at ng Liamtech Envirosystems Enterprises na nakabase sa bayan sa Imus, lalawigan ng Cavite. Isa sa kanilang kilalang produkto ang Biodegradable Waste Composting Machine.

Ayon kay Technical Operations Supervisor ng GreenDev na si Jerome Magdato na ang kanilang composter ay kayang magproseso ng isang toneladang nabubulok na basura upang ito ay maging 500 kilong lupa na pataba sa loob lang ng tatlong araw.

Paliwanag pa ni Atty. Aquino na ang mga solid waste management equipment at iba pang kagamitan tulad ng shredder, pulverizer, glass crushers, composters o bioreactor ay napakahalaga at makakatulong sa pagpapatupad ng solid waste management programs sa mga bayan sakop ng Palawan.

Ang bayan ng El Nido, sa bahaging Norte ng Palawan, ay mayroon ng glass crusher na gawa lang ng local supplier ayon kay Atty. Aquino at ito ay abot kaya lang ng mga local government units (LGUs).

Ito ang nakikita nyang pangmatagalang solusyon upang mapapatupad na ang maayos na waste management sa Puerto Princesa, at sa lahat ng bayan ng Palawan at pati sa mga sakop na barangay nito.
