Architect Jefferson Bulan, dean of the College of Architecture and Design at Palawan State University (PalawanSU), opened his solo architectural exhibition, “Pagbanwak,” on Monday, July 27, at The Residence, the former Old Governor’s Residence, showcasing projects that explore architecture’s role in institutional development and community-building.
The exhibition themed, “Mindful Spaces: Good Architecture for Institutional Excellence,” features a collection of Bulan’s completed and conceptual works that examine how architecture can support learning environments, public facilities and community spaces.
Among the featured projects are the Pagbanwak Landmark, BUS-Y Café, Child-Minding Center, Faculty Union Office, Barangay Macarascas Community Hub and Barangay Iratag Learning Hub, reflecting design approaches intended to address the needs of educational institutions and local communities.
The opening program included remarks from Bulan, followed by a message from Palawan State University President Dr. Venzon Limpiada. The exhibition was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Bulan said the exhibition was intended to encourage dialogue on the role of architecture in shaping institutions and improving the quality of public spaces.
The projects on display highlight design solutions that prioritize functionality, sustainability and community needs.
The exhibition was organized by BLN Architecture & Design Studio in partnership with the Provincial Government of Palawan.
