Maghanda na ang mga mahilig sa astronomiya at tagahanga ng kalawakan dahil isang Total Lunar Eclipse o “Blood Moon” ang matutunghayan sa gabi ng Setyembre 7 hanggang madaling-araw ng Setyembre 8, 2025, ayon sa DOST-PAGASA.

Ang kabuuang pagtakip ng anino ng mundo sa buwan ay magtatagal ng humigit-kumulang isang oras, 22 minuto, at 54 segundo at masusulyapan sa Pilipinas, pati na rin sa Silangang Africa, Asia, at Australia.

Narito ang iskedyul ng Eclipse (oras sa Pilipinas):

* Pagsisimula ng Penumbral Phase: 11:27 PM (Setyembre 7)
* Susundan ng Partial Lunar Eclipse: 12:27 AM
* Simula ng Totality: 1:30 AM
* Pinakamataas na yugto ng eclipse: 2:12 AM
* Exit ng Totality: 2:53 AM
* Exit ng Penumbral Phase: 4:57 AM

Sa panahon ng maximum Eclipse, ang buwan ay magiging kulay pula o kilala bilang “Blood Moon.” Ang kakaibang kulay na ito ay dulot ng pagpasok ng sikat ng araw sa atmosphere ng mundo kung saan nafi-filter ang liwanag at ang pula lamang ang nakakaabot sa buwan.

Gayunpaman, hinihikayat ng PAGASA ang publiko na obserbahan ang kaganapan dahil ito ay ligtas panoorin kahit walang protective eyewear, hindi tulad ng solar eclipse.

Maari rin umanong gumamit ng binoculars sa mga nais nang mas malinaw na makita ang detalye ng buwan.
