With the theme of “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the Palawan Provincial Government joins the 2023 National Women’s Month celebration.
In collaboration with Palawan’s Gender and Development (GAD) Office and the Philippine Commission on Women, this year’s celebration underscores the role of women as active contributors and claim holders of the provinces’ development.
The provincial GAD office will conduct a Women’s Symposium on Gender Sensitivity and Mental Health Awareness Campaign. This will also include deliberate talks regarding RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act and RA 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act.
It is then followed by a provincial Memorandum Order No. 58, which directs employees of the Palawan Provincial Government to wear purple t-shirts every Wednesday of March to signify support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.
