23 Palawenos finished swimming program with Begin to Swim

TWENTY Three Palawenos ages 3 years old up to 64 years of age, finished an almost three month course program of swimming under the Begin to Swim program by Swimmer athlete champion Tinii Banzuela-Cayetano. The weekly swimming lessons had three categories, Toddlers, Kids and Adults that started last November for more than 10 sessions.

Banzuela whose track record as a swimmer is one of Palawan’s most medal athlete, she competed from Palarong Pambansa, to UAAP representing De La Salle University and other high end commercial competitions abroad. She wants to make sure her students learn not only the basics in swimming, but also the attitude once you are in the water, and expect the probable unexpected.

“Ang goal ko talaga lahat deserve to learn how to swim talaga, kasi ang tao ‘pag wala ‘yan sa lupa nasa tubig, dito sa Puerto, dito sa Palawan ano ba ang pinaka-outing natin dito, tubig ‘di ba,” Banzuela said

The said program ended last January 8 thru an awarding closing ceremony at Holiday Suites Palawan, most of the participants received an award and depending on their performances, below is the complete list of awardees.

For Kids/Toddlers Swimming Stroke Award, the Best in Freestyle goes to Alexandra Tan; Best in Butterfly Award for Alesso Hernandez; Best in Breastroke- Aliyana Alvarez; Best in Backstroke- Alesso Hernandez; Treading Skills Award- Aliyana Alvarez, Joaquin Antonio Alvarez and Matteo Tan; Most Improved (Kids) – Kent Gavilan, Water Safety Award- Sabina Isabelle Ragas & Ali Sun; Swim Distance Award-  Gavin Carl Tana and Ali Sun; Water Skills award- Janeca Villanueva & DJ Chua; Treading Skills Award- Scarlett Cassandra Go; Survival Skills Award- Jayden Villanueva & Louis Anthony Acharon.

For Adult Swimming Stroke awardees, Best in Freestyle Award- Rocky & Jester Villanueva; Best in Butterfly- Emma Cassar & Hsinj Jung Lin; Best in Breastroke- Nino Madaje; Best in Back Stroke- Karla Lozada & Jana Villanueva; Most Improved- Jhoris Villanueva.

Adult speed awardee for Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke, and Butterfly all goes to Anikka Sophia Tiotangco. Outstanding Swimmers are Alesso Hernandez, Anikka Sophia Tiotangco and Rocky Bernardino.

Banzuela said that a new batch for her Begin to Swim Classes will open this January 15. For more information, check BTS FB page for details.  Begin To Swim program is supported by Senordamla, Le Dessert, Megaprint, Signcraft, Quezonian Transport, 21 Gun Vans, Mr. Denz Sampilo and Holiday Suites.
