“Mas nakilala ako sa pageant. Ang hindi nila alam lumaki akong ina-associate ko sarili ko with musicians. I’ve been roaming in the underground scene of LGBTQ, hip hop scene, with funky art kids. So, being with artists help shape my artistry as well,” Schweighart said.

At 18, Imelda begun writing and composing songs. She started a duo band called “Esther” with DJ Allrock and was active in performing live in many festivals and events. It is her ultimate dream to become an international pop superstar.

Now a mother, Imelda wants to inspire people, particularly women, in all possible means and she hopes to achieve being “Imelda” as a solo and independent artist in this generation. At the moment, she is working with four different music producers. Her latest single “Bubba Luva” is in collaboration with Lust Bass.

“I want my baby boy growing up in a household where his mom is happy doing what she loves, also I wanna be singing my songs for women who are like me,” Imelda explained.

As an indie artist, Imelda admitted that she personally financed her career for now, paying music producers, photoshoots, posters and marketing her online releases. She is hoping that after establishing her name through different platforms, she can attract a recording label to invest in her music.

Imelda songs are now available via Spotify, Apple Music, and Tiktok.
