Jessa is a daughter of a canteen owner and a retired driver in Puerto Princesa City and, at the same time, a first-generation graduate of her family, making her an inspiration and a living proof that nothing is impossible with perseverance and determination.
She was accepted to the course in Masters in Conservation Leadership in 2020 with a Miriam Rothschild Scholarship and has successfully finished in 2021, concluding the degree with Merit Honours as one of the top students in her class. Her commencement is set this July 2022.
The University of Cambridge is consistently regarded as one of the leading educational institutions in the world, and she hopes that with this accomplishment, she can encourage more Palaweños to reach their dreams.
