After being the female lead in some major Filipino films, upcoming Palawenya teen star Nafa Hilario is still hopeful to continue acting in different movie projects amidst pandemic situation. Her last film, Kung Paano Siya Nawala topbilled by JM De Guzman and Rhian Ramos, was recently shown in Netflix.
According to Nafa’s personal manager and real life Father Rommel Bonayon, Hilario is now busy attending online classes as Grade 10 at Dr. Carlos Lanting College in Quezon City. Many of her supposed to be projects were shelved and affected by the on-going pandemic.
Nafa is discovered by the late film maker Maryo J Delos Reyes after judging Miss Palawan pageant in Baragatan festival in 2012. She moved to Manila and did acting workshop with Philippine Educational Theater Association and have been included as cast in the movie Bamboo Flowers, and then got the lead role for “Patintero Ang Alamat ni Meng Patalo” and was nominated for Best Actress in 2013 Q Cinema Film Competition, the said movie is now in Youtube and can be watched for free.
Even though she didn’t bag the said award, this is enough for Nafa to be noticed in silver screen and was offered to be part of Erik Matti’s Buybust in 2018 and Eerie by Director Mikhail Red under Star Cinema which starred Charo Santos and Bea Alonzo. She was also visible in many soap operas in TV such as Nino, Wagas, Magpakailanman and Ka Relasyon all in GMA, and Passion De Amor, Maalala Mo Kaya, All Of Me and Langit at Lupa in ABS-CBN.
She was also in many short films, among them is “Ang Batang Babae at si Alaska” that earned her Best Performer award for Sine Tomasino in 2017. Commercial video project is also in Nafa’s portfolio such as Biogesic Sineserye and Mga Bangka at Eroplanong Papel by Mondeliz International.
Bonayon who reside originally in Brgy. Milagrosa here in Puerto Princesa, many projects and offers are being lined up for Nafa, but with many restrictions implemented by IATF especially she is just 15 years old, they have to beg off.
Some projects that she considered is the Darna revival movie as young galema, and the upcoming Buybust series also for online platform Hooq. Come end of this pandemic Nafa will be handled by Ferdy Lapuz as her talent management agency.
Nafa Clarizze Bonayon in real life used to study in East Central School in Grade 2 before moving to Manila to pursue acting.
