Former Palawenya Beauty Queen turned Model and Actress Liezel Sangalang-Delfin who now resides in the United States of America, is currently in the top ranking for Maxim Australia Cover Girl 2020, out of 37 models all over the world, Sangalang-Delfin made it to the Top 10 based on online voting.
The online poll started last September 8 and she kept her ranking as one of the top choice among the readers of Maxim Australia, a US brand of men’s magazine known for its pictorials featuring popular actresses, singers and female models. This Oct 1 the Top 5 will be chosen and she needs a lot of support especially the contest tie up with a K2 foundation in raising funds to help individuals with life challenges and disabilities.
The winning Cover girl will be featured on the cover of Maxim Australia with lavish photo shoot and a cash prize of $10,000 AUD. On her Bio in the page Liezel said she will give portion of her prize to the charity in case she won the title.
“Nag send sila ng message sa Facebook kung interested daw po ako mag join, so kinuha nila email ko at kung pwede ako mag-send ng ilang pics para sa sponsor ng Maxim kung ma-qualified po ako, so after few days nag email po sila,” Delfin said on how she start in the said contest.
Liezel start her career in showbiz as a second batch member of the defunct Viva Hot Babes and was introduced as Ericka Fuente, and later on ventured into movies. Among her projects are Uno opposite Ronnie Rickets and Monsour Del Rosario, and Shake Rattle And Roll 2k5 Part 7 as the kept sister of Ogie Alcasid in the Aquarium episode.
10 years ago Liezel quit showbiz and moved to Texas in the USA with her husband and they put up Delfin Care, a home health agency. As of now they have four kids and she didn’t forget to maintain her figure, making her one hot momma.
“For me competition isn’t always about trying to win, it’s also about getting better at what we do and who we become, and for me the best type of competition is one we compete against ourselves, by challenging ourselves to do better than what we’ve done previously,” Delfin added.
Liezel was crowned Miss Puerto Princesa City 2002, and in the same year she also won Mutya ng Palawan, unfortunately she didn’t finish her reign.
