Panunumpa ng IP rep, hindi natuloy; SP, walang quorum

Hindi natuloy ang panunumpa sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan ngayong araw, Pebrero 4, ng incoming Provincial Indigenous People Mandatory Representative na si Purita Jakaria Seguritan.

Ito ay matapos na walang nabuong quorum ang Provincial Board kaya hindi natuloy ang regular na sesyon.

Ayon kay Vice Governor Victorino Dennis M. Socrates, nasa official business ang karamihan sa mga first district board members kaya hindi nakadalo sa sesyon.

“Ngayong umaga po  sana ay manunumpa si Kagalang-galang Purita Seguritan bilang miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ngunit sa kasawiang-palad nagkataon na lahat, halos lahat ng ating miyembro na taga-Unang Distrito ng Lalawigan, ay may paglakakbay na ginagawa ngayon sa bayan ng Dumaran yata, kaya po hindi tayo nagka-quorum at ayon sa ating Secretariat ay hindi na tayo magkaka-quorum ngayong araw sapagkat wala nang inaasahang makakarating pa at ang ‘yung mga ex-officio board members na iba-iba ay may mga opisyal na lakad sa labas ng Palawan, so ikinalulungkot po natin na hindi matutuloy ang panunumpa,” pahayag ni Socrates.

Maliban dito ay kulang rin umano ang naisumiteng mga dokumento  sa Secretariat at kailangan itong kumpletuhin.

Ayon sa Secretariat, ang tanging naisumite pa lamang sa kanila ay ang letter of intent at Certificate of Affirmation mula sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples(NCIP) habang ang mga hindi pa naibibigay sa kanila ang oath of office, result of canvass at biodata ni Seguritan.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Puritan na nakahanda ang lahat ng dokumento at kanila itong ibibigay sa secretariat kaagad.

“Bilang napiling provincial IPMR ay gusto po naming maiangat ang kabuhayan, customary laws, ‘yung mga katutubong pangpamayanan ba katulad ng kasi napansin ko na yung mga IPMR marami pang kulang sa mga barangay at mahit sa munisipyo po level at tsaka yung magkakaroon kami ng tribal hall bawat munisipyo para kung may pagtitipon ang mga katutubo may magagamit,” ani ni Seguritan.

Sa susunod na Martes ay inaasahan na matutuloy na ang panunumpa ni Seguritan.
