PAL Flight 113 makes emergency landing due to engine failure

A Philippine Airlines Flight 113, which supposed to land in Manila for a long haul flight, made an emergency landing at Los Angeles after take off, Reuters reported.

All 343 passengers and 18 crew aboard the Boeing 777 widebody are safe, PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.

The plane safely landed at around 2000 GMT, 12 p.m. local time after the pilots declared an emergency after they noticed smoke in the plane’s second engine.

The authorities are currently investigating as to what caused the said incident.
