About 10 million doses of the reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are expected to arrive in the country by the second quarter of this year.
The government already received three batches of the vaccines for kids, or about 780,000 doses, last February 4, 2022.
“For this month, we’re expecting a total of five million. So, kung tutuusin mga 2.5 [million] o a little more na pwedeng mabakunahan this month of February,” said Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje earlier today over Laging Handa public briefing that was aired on CNN Philippines.
“Tapos dadating na naman ang another, sa second quarter ‘no, mga 10 million are arriving in the second quarter pero iba-iba ‘yung kapasidad kada delivery or shipment,” she added.
However, the health undersecretary also shared that the vaccination for the age group of 5-11 years old is still supply-dependent.
“Ipa-pace natin. ‘Yung second dose nila, after 21 days. So, ang ating instruction, magtabi ng pangalawang dose sa mga batang nabigyan ng first dose,” said Cabotaje.
According to the recent Department of Health data, there are already 263,000 children aged 5-11 years old who have received their first doses against COVID-19, with eight of them experiencing non-serious adverse effects such as itchy throat, vomiting, and chills.
At the moment, the province has not yet given doses to the said age group and is still on standby for the further instructions of the government.

The team is also open for registration in their off-site registration venues in SM City Puerto Princesa, Robinsons Place Palawan, Puerto Princesa Underground River office, and the respective barangay halls of the residents.
