Former MUP queen files complaint vs. Miss Palawan Charities Inc. executives

Miss Universe Palawan 2021 queen, Klaidel Hope Concepcion, filed a formal narrative report to the Provincial Legislative Office against the CEO and founder of Miss Palawan Charities Inc., along with the other officers of the charity organization.

The narrative report was addressed to Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez and to Vice Governor Dennis M. Socrates.

The complaints are:

1) Tax deduction even when the Miss Palawan Charities Incorporated has no SEC registration.

2) No business permit to operate, DSWD endorsement, Tax Concerns.

3) Questionable legitimacy of the titles for Miss Palawan 2021.

4) Exploitation, lacking in proper provision of food and drink during pageant activity.

5) Lack of contracts for winners, staggered payments for title holder/prizes, peculiar amount for consolation prizes.

6) Body shaming in an endeavor which seeks to empower women.

 

For which was also signed by some of the candidates from last year’s Miss Universe Palawan 2021 search.

The letter was received by the governor and vice governor’s offices through Atty. Jethro M. Palayon, Provincial Legal Officer, and Board Member Al Rama.

According to Concepcion, this is just one of the actions that they plan to do.

Meanwhile, in a text message, Mr. Edgardo “Bong” S. Villanueva said that he will answer the allegations as soon as he gets back in the city.
