Authorities arrested two residents of Barangay Marangas, Bataraza, and confiscated illegal drugs worth P203,645 in a successful anti-drug operation on Saturday, according to the Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPO).
The suspects were identified as “Ting,” a 71-year-old man, and “Kato,” a 32-year-old resident. During the operation, operatives seized a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 1.46 grams, purchased as part of a buy-bust operation.
Additionally, authorities recovered 23 more sachets of shabu, aluminum foil, lighters, and other paraphernalia believed to be used in drug-related activities.
The operation was spearheaded by the Bataraza Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), the Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPO), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU). The coordinated effort among these agencies was instrumental in the seizure of illegal drugs and the apprehension of the suspects.
The suspects are now under the custody of Bataraza MPS as further investigations are underway.
