18 barangays benefit from free legal services and seminar in Brooke’s Point

The Provincial Legal Office of the Palawan Provincial Government organized a free legal service and seminar at the Octagon Gym, Barangay Poblacion I in Brooke’s Point, Palawan where eighteen (18) barangays were provided with consultations and seminars on laws and policies.

This was held on February 22-23. During the first day of the event, 86 individuals from various barangays attended the seminar for Lupong Tagapamayapa and other barangay officials.

Discussions revolved around various laws such as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials, Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, Safe Spaces Act, Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, and An Act Prohibiting the Practice of Child Marriage.

On the second day, 48 clients benefited from free legal consultations. The activities were led by Atty. Joshua U. Bolusa, the Provincial Legal Officer, along with other lawyers from the IBP Palawan Chapter and other agencies.

Brooke’s Point Mayor Cesareo Benedito, Jr. and Vice Mayor Mary Jean D. Feliciano expressed their gratitude for the program and those who sought to promote it in their town.

Several officials from the province also attended the event, including Board Members Ryan D. Maminta, Al-Nashier M. Ibba, and Ariston Arzaga.
