Palawan Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, as the Chairperson of the Provincial Development Council (PDC), took the lead in the successful PDC 2nd Full Council Meeting held on November 29, at the VJR Hall of the Capitol.
Thirty-two (32) out of forty-three (45) council members attended the meeting, comprising Provincial Board Members, representatives of three congressmen in the province, Municipal Mayors, Department Heads, and representatives from various sectors and civil organizations in the province.
Several LGU officials also participated in the discussions about government plans for provincial development.
The session explored crucial items on the agenda, such as sanctioning the Provincial Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan (ELCCAP) CY 2024-2030, Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) CY 2024-2030, approval and acceptance of the Revised Provincial Development and Investment Program CY 2024-2030, along with the 5th Supplemental Investment Program for CY 2023.
Central to the gathering was the meticulous review and endorsement of extensive plans outlined in the PDPFP CY 2024-2030.
The council scrutinized these plans, resulting into a strategic roadmap for the province’s advancement over the next six years.
Essential elements, including ELCCAP CY 2024-2030 and the Revised Provincial Development and Investment Program CY 2024-2030, also received approval.
Meanwhile, in a separate session, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Sharlene D. Vilches presented the contents of the PDPFP in the 4th Quarterly Meeting of the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC). RLUC Chairperson, NEDA Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza, commended the Provincial Government for its concise yet comprehensive presentation.
RD Mendoza recognized the consideration of PDPFP not only for Palawan’s development but also for its positive impact on other provinces in the MIMAROPA region.
With the unanimous approval of RLUC, RD Mendoza declared the official approval of Palawan’s PDPFP.
