A joint operation spearheaded by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) alongside key law enforcement agencies including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Customs (BOC), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) resulted in a significant victory against smuggling rings in Brookes Point, Palawan on May 1.
The operation, part of the ongoing efforts to curb smuggling activities in the region, bore fruit as authorities successfully contained and seized a staggering 448 master cases of assorted brands of smuggled cigarettes.
The intercepted contraband, with an estimated street value of Php 13,44 signifies the scale and audacity of the illegal trade networks operating within Palawan waters.
Following the seizure, meticulous inventory and documentation procedures were conducted by personnel from the BIR and CIDG, ensuring thorough accountability and adherence to legal protocols.
