Isang native na ibon natagpuan sa Barangay Urduja

Isang native na ibon ang natagpuan sa isang tahanan sa Barangay Princess Urduja bandang 8:30 AM ngayong umaga, July 20. Ayon kay Abegail Ubo, SK Chairman ng nasabing barangay, sumabit umano ang ibon sa bakuran nila Mr. Eden Tolentino na agad namang tumawag sa kinauukulan para ipagbigay alam ang nangyari.

Ani Emerson Sy, consultant ng USAID Protect Wildlife Project at Adri Santos ng Birding Philippines, ang ibon ay isang Cinnamon Bittern Bird o may scientific name bilang “Ixobrychus Cinnamomeus”, isang native na ibon na matatagpuan lamang sa tropical Asia partikular sa ilang bahagi ng India, China at Indonesia.

Madalang matagpuan ang ganitong klase ng ibon sa bansa. Sa ngayon ay balak ng mga opisyales ng Barangay Princess Urduja na i-surrender ito sa tanggapan ng lokal na Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
