In line with the Women’s Month Celebration this month, the JCI Narra Grains in partnership with the Narra Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) on Saturday, March 26, conducted a basic life support training exclusively for the young women in the said town.
Some 16 young women aging from 18-30 years old joined the free training in time for the observance of the Women’s Month celebration.
The participants undergo a training for emergency cardiovascular care and psychomotor training- where they could develop physical skills such as movement, coordination, manipulation, dexterity, strength and speed guided by signals from the environment.
Alvin Jan Duran, Training Unit Head of Narra MDRRMO, informed that all 16 participants completed their BLS training and now has a certificate. The 16 participants is now considered as an Auxiliary of the Narra Emergency Response Unit (NERU) and an Accredited Community Disaster Volunteer.
The Narra JCI Grains believes that empowering women in humanitarian crisis can save lives.
“Building women’s empowerment and including women in disaster response creates and develops resilience,” according to their press release.
The JCI Narra Grains also partnered with the Narra LGU and other MDRRMO facilitators to make the recent event possible.
