P6 Million worth of rice for bataraza from RTN and CBNC

Mining companies donate P6-M to Bataraza in COVID-19 help

Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corp. (RTNMC), a subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), and Coral Bay Nickel Corp. (CBNC) donated on Thursday, July 2, a total of P6M supplemental budget for the rice assistance of Bataraza’s 23,000 household in aid to the crisis experience by the municipality brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bataraza Mayor Abraham Ibba, in a press release published by the mining companies, said that the local government unit (LGU) of Bataraza also alloted a total of P3.5 million fund on top of the P6 million cash assistance from RTN and CBNC.

A total of P9.5M will be used as fund for rice subsidy for the town’s 23,000 households, according to Ibba.

“Maraming salamat RTN, CBNC. Itong tulong na ito ay maraming matutulungan. About 23,000 households sa Bataraza ang ating maayudahan. Sa Lunes na sisimulan ang distribution,” said Ibba.

As of press time, the LGU, along with other town volunteers is now repacking thousands sack of rice from the donated assistance which is expected to be recieved by townsfolk within this month.

Each household will receive 10 kilos of rice courtesy of both mining companies and the municipal government.
