The Palawan Provincial Government, through the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), conducts consecutive public consultations on the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan for 2024-2030 in various municipalities of the province.

Recent activities were held on September 26, 2023, in the towns of Cuyo, Magsaysay, and Agutaya, and on October 6, 2023, in the town of Bataraza.
Stakeholders from Brooke’s Point, Balabac, and Rizal also participated in the public consultation in Bataraza.

Municipal Administrator Valentino D. Palasigue, representing Mayor Abraham M. Ibba, welcomed the participants.

Board Member Al-Nashier M. Ibba delivered a message emphasizing the importance of unity in shaping the province’s future through the implementation of agreed-upon plans and productive meetings.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Sharlene D. Vilches provided an overview of Palawan’s current state and the general idea of the plan, aligning it with regional and provincial thrusts and directions.

Topics discussed during the meeting included the Settlements Development Framework, Land Development Framework, Protection Land Development Framework, Infrastructure Development Framework, and General Land Use Framework, all presented by PPDO staff.

These consultations serve as a platform for meaningful discussions and collaboration between the Provincial Government and local governments in Palawan. The participation and ideas shared by attendees contribute significantly to understanding, organizing, and developing each plan.

Similar public consultations will continue in other municipalities across the province in the coming days.
