Narra Sangguniang Bayan Members Francis Atchera and ABC president Ernesto B. Ferrer on September 6, 2021, confirmed that they will run for the Vice-Mayoral seat in the 2022 upcoming election as the period of filing for candidacy draws near.

Both legislators announced this on their social media by uploading an image of the certificate for filing as vice mayor.

Ferrer, an incumbent ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Bayan, in a message sent to Palawan Daily today said that he has decided to run as vice-mayor as he is supported by the Narra punong-barangays and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation.

The punong barangay of Bato-Bato also informed that he, along with SK and Punong-Barangay officials, have already managed to form a qualified line-up but will file as individually independent candidates in the upcoming national and local election.

Ferrer also said that they are open to any party list as allies in the 2022 election.

When asked about whether who would run as their local chief executive, Ferrer said that they don’t have anyone yet in mind.

Furthermore, he declined to give any information in regards to his platform for the vice-mayoral bid and said that it is too early to announce.

Atchera, on the other hand, has been open and vocal about his interest in running as the town’s vice mayor since last year and has finally confirmed his intention.

The legislator said via a message today that he, on the other hand, will run under a national party list but will file as an independent candidate locally.

Atchera also declined to give any hint on his platform advocacy.

According to a reliable source, it is expected that there will be seven candidates that will run for the Narra vice-mayoral bid in the 2022 election.
