Two nabbed for poaching pangolin scales in El Nido

Two persons were arrested after being caught allegedly poaching an estimated 7.5 kilos of pangolin scales in Sitio Bokbok, Barangay Bebeladan, El Nido.

The arrest came after an entrapment operation headed by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSDS) Enforcement Team on Thursday, February 23.

PCSDS reported yesterday that both suspects will face a case in violation of RA 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.

 

The Palawan Pangolin is considered as a critically endangered species under PCSDS Resolution 15-521.

 

PCSDS is calling the help of the public in reporting any illegal activities that threaten the life of wildlife species, as well as flora and fauna.
