Mga munisipyo sa Palawan, pagbabawalang maglabas ng baboy?

Isinusulong ni 1st district Board Member Maria Angela Sabando na pansamantalang ipatigil sa mga Local Government Units sa Lalawigan ng Palawan ang pag-export ng buhay na baboy at karne nito hanggang sa magbalik sa normal ang supply at presyo sa merkado.

Sa kanila umanong pag-aaral, tumataas ang presyo ng karneng baboy sa lalawigan dahil nagiging takbuhan ito ng mga negosyante sa mga lugar na apektado ng African Swine Fever. Dahil dito, bumababa ng supply at tumataas ang presyo ng baboy sa Palawan.

Pero para sa Provincial Veterinary Office, kanila pa umanong pag-aaralan kung dapat bang ipagbawal ang paglabas ng baboy sa lalawigan. Ito na raw kasi ang pagkakataon ng mga nag-aalaga ng baboy na kumita.

“Titimbangin kasi natin, kasi, puwede maapektuhan yung ibang farmers sa price. Kasi kung halimbawa na hindi na sila makapaglabas o hindi na sila makapagbenta sa mga buyer, siguro baka mag-isip din sila, papaano ito kung ang mga local vendors ang bibili sa kanila baka babaratin sila.”

“Kung hahayaan naman natin na patuloy lalabas yung ating resources dito, tayo ang mawawalan. Sigurado yun.”

Nakatakda namang talakayin ang resolusyon sa Committee on Agriculture.
