After skirmish MIMAROPA cops told to run after, intensify dragnet vs rebels

CALAPAN CITY, MINDORO – After an armed confrontation on June 29, the Mindoro Occidental and Mindoro Oriental Police Provincial Office, including the nearest provinces, were ordered to conduct checkpoint operations in their areas through the activation of “Oplan Tambuli”, a dragnet operations conducted by all units including the monitoring of hospitals for those wounded rebels who were might be brought there and to block the supply of logistics and ammunition to the enemies.

PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D. Licup, in joint effort with the AFP counterparts, immediately launched continuous combat operations to pursue the fleeing Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) from the “Platoon Roque” of KLG Silangan, who were encountered by the Scout Platoon and Bravo Company, 76th Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army led by 1Lt. KIRBY JOHN BUHION and 2LT CALOPEZ while having their strike operations on June 29, 2018 about 1:30 PM in Sitio Kamambugan, Brgy. Pinagturilan, Sta Cruz, Occidental Mindoro.

No soldier was hurt during the firefight that lasted for about 15 minutes. The enemies withdrew towards South West direction.
