The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Palawan said Tuesday that they are 95% ready for the upcoming May 13 National and Local Elections.

“Sa ngayon meron tayong tinatawag na final testing ng sealing ng mga vote counting machine, ‘yung purpose noon is para i-assess yung readiness ng VCM kung okay ba yung functions niya, kung wala bang problema,” said COMELEC Election Assistant II Jomel A. Ordas.

Other activities and preparations include the trainings of the Electoral Board or the Poll Workers, as well as, the shipment of the election equipment, forms, supplies and other paraphernalia, which started on May 1 until May 6.

To ensure peace and order, COMELEC has collaborated with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Western Command Armed Forces of the Philippines (WESCOM) and the Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPPO).

Election Assistant Ordas also assured that they are ready in case of last minute emergencies.

He would also like to remind everyone, especially those who will be voting for the first time to find out where their clustered precincts and polling precincts are prior to voting.

Okay lang ‘yung under vote,” he added. (By Erika Concepcion / Palawan Daily News)
