CNN Travel named Palawan as one of the “10 of the World’s Most Beautiful Islands” in an updated article posted on Wednesday, September 24, alongside other stunning islands from various countries with their own unique highlights.
Jen Rose Smith, the author of the article published in CNN Travel, portrayed Palawan as, “The island of Palawan is a great gorgeous haven of pale sand and clear water.”
Smith added that the province’s most astonishing getaway destination is the UNESCO World Heritage Site Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park which is also one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
“But the island’s most remarkable hiding place might be in Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where an underground river slips through a maze of limestone caverns,” said Smith.
Palawan not just houses one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, but it is blessed with another heritage site which is the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park that is an undoubtedly a nature’s work of art, a utopian paradise for aquatic life with its vast coral reefs hidden beneath the Sulu Sea.
Other islands that were included in the list are; Milos of Greece, Bartolome of Ecuador, Fregate of Seychelles, St. Lucia of Lesser Antilles, Jura of Scotland, Komodo Island of Indonesia, Senja Island of Norway, Mo’orea of French Polynesia, and Kaua’i of United States.
