Muling pinatunayan ng lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang kahalagahan nito sa turismo matapos kilalanin bilang ikawalong pinkaligtas na lungsod sa Pilipinas para sa mga turista, batay sa pinakahuling datos ng World Travel Index (WTI) ngayong taong 2025.

Ayon sa WTI, nakakuha ang lungsod ng Safety Index score na 71.46, sapat upang mapasama sa top 10 safest cities sa bansa.
Kabilang sa mga batayan ng Travel Index sa kanilang pagsusuri ay ang gastos, aktibidad, kaligtasan, imprastruktura, at pangkalahatang atraksyon ng isang destinasyon.
Ang pagkilalang ito ay inaasahang magdadala ng mas maraming turista at lalong magpapalakas sa industriya ng turismo ng lungsod.
