Filipino movies will be taking over cinemas around the country once again in celebration of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) starting September 13 to 18, 2019. And students could watch available movies at SM Cinema Puerto Princesa regular theaters for only P130.00.
Students at various levels just need to present a Valid School ID to avail themselves of the special rate.
At very low prices, audiences will get to support Filipino films and celebrate stories that resonate and imbibe the Filipino craft of storytelling.
For this year, the Film Development Council of the Philippines announced 10 films as official entries.
On September 13, 2019, three of the official entries will be screened at SM Cinema Puerto Princesa. Here’s a quick guide of these films:
CUDDLE WEATHER (R-13)
Directed by Rod Marmol and starring RK Bagatsing and Sue Ramirez, this film is about two sex workers who form a screwy relationship as ‘cuddle partners’ only to realize that they want something more after realizing that prostitutes are not entitled to the best part of love making.
THE PANTI SISTERS (PG)
Three gay sons are called back by their estranged and terminally ill father and given an offer they can’t refuse: a P300 million inheritance in exchange for each of them giving him a grandchild. Starring Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, and Martin Del Rosario, this is directed by Jun Robles Lana.
OPEN (R-13)
Rome and Ethan, played by Arci Muñoz and JC Santos respectively have been together for 14 years. They are each other’s firsts, and to their friends, they are the perfect couple. When the two begin to feel that their relationship has gone stale, they explore the idea of going open. In a relationship built over time, the two begin to “explore” expecting to salvage the exact same thing they are giving up. In the end, they learn the importance of the very thing they have been blind to – a relationship without trust will eventually crumble.
