It was reported yesterday, January 4, a newly discovered COVID-19 variant “IHU.” The said variant was first discovered in France that is said more infectious than Omicron.
According to the report, the new variant has been detected in 12 patients near Marseille in France. Researchers said the variant contains 46 mutations, making it more resistant to the existing COVID-19 vaccines, which can make it more transmissible.
As per World Health Organization, IHU is labeled as a “variant under investigation”.
