The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Kalayaan Island Group Station successfully rescued a massive 95-kilogram Green Sea Turtle that had become trapped in the air strip (runway) of Barangay Pag-asa, Kalayaan Island, Palawan. The rescue operation unfolded yesterday, July 5.

The endangered marine creature, measuring approximately 90 centimeters in length and 85 centimeters in width, was discovered by local residents who immediately alerted the authorities. Realizing the urgent need for intervention, swiftly deployed a team of personnel to the scene.

According to a report from PCG, the Green Sea Turtle was suspected climbing at the vicinity shoreline of Barangay Pag-asa to lay eggs and then return back to the sea, but unfortunately, lost its way back until it was found creeping along the air strip.

With immense care and precision, they skillfully carried the creature and transported it back to its ocean habitat.
