The Puerto Princesa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PPCCI) has urged business owners to secure Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) Clearance from the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) until March 28, 2026 to avoid fines and penalties.
PPCCI announced that the City Government of Puerto Princesa through the Puerto Princesa Council for Sustainable Development (PPCSD) will implement a No Fine Policy for business establishment securing their SEP Clearance until the end of March, this year.
The PPCCI said that this was discussed during the PPCSD regular meeting held recently at the Mayor’s Conference Room. Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron presided the meeting. Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) Executive Director Atty. Teodoro Jose S. Matta, Vice Mayor Peter Q. Maristela, and other council members were also present during the meeting.
“This aims to give business owners sufficient time to comply with document requirements without facing penalties,” the PPCCI said.
A SEP Clearance is a document issued by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), certifying that a proposed project, undertaking, or activity in Palawan complies with the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) Law also known as Republic Act 7611. It confirms that the project is environmentally sustainable, aligns with the ECAN (Environmentally Critical Areas Network), and has met all necessary environmental protection requirements.
RA 7611 is a law establishing a comprehensive framework for sustainable development, ecological protection and resource management in Palawan.
