2,800 beneficiaries in Puerto Princesa and Aborlan to get Tupad grant this December

Almost 3,000 beneficiaries of the Tulong Paghanapbuhay sa mga Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program are scheduled to collect their payouts from the office of Congressman Gil Acosta this December 2021.

Half of these beneficiaries are from Puerto Princesa while the other half are from the town of Aborlan in south Palawan.

Each beneficiary will receive cash amounting to P3,200 for the services rendered during the COVID-19 pandemic and as financial assistance to jobless Palaweños affected by the outbreak.

A report sent by the office of Acosta yesterday said that the latest batch of recipients is an additional 1,400 beneficiaries from Puerto Princesa is scheduled for orientation on Wednesday, December 14.

The Tupad program is assistance being given by the LGU’s under the directive and initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). It aims to provide provisional employment to displaced workers for them to have income during the pandemic.

Also included are underemployed and seasonal workers, where they will be asked to work for 10 days but not exceeding a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be made.
