COMELEC, target na mapagbibigyan lahat ng mga gustong magparehistro sa Puerto Princesa bago ang deadline

Sa kabila na bumaba na sa 50 katao na magparehistro kada araw ang tinatanggap ng Puerto Princesa City COMELEC ay positibo naman sila na mapagbibigyan lahat bago ang itinakdang araw, Septyembre 30 para sa 2022 National at Local Election sa bansa.

“September 30 pa naman [ang deadline sa voters registration], kakayanin pa naman …sabi ko na ‘yung ugali natin na last day, last hour [at] last minute eh alisin na natin ‘yun para hindi tayo nagsisiksikan,” pahayag ni Ferdinand T. Bermejo, City COMELEC Officer.

Binigyang diin ni Bermejo, kailangang magtiis lalo na ngayon nasa panahon ng pandemya dulot ng COVID-19 kaya kailangang sumunod sa ipinapatupad na patakaran para sa kaligtasan ng lahat.

“Sa mga kababayan natin na medyo nahihirapan sa pagpaparehistro eh talaga pong hindi natin inaasahan na dadaan tayo sa ganitong sitwasyon na talagang ini-slowdown tayo ng pandemic na ito, dati-dati we can accommodate 300 applicants per day but now we are down to 50,”

Sa ibinigay na update ng COMELEC as of January 18, 2021 dito sa lungsod ay nakapagtala na ng 144, 867 na total registered voters na kung saan umabot na sa 1,435 ang bagong rehistrado at 1,081 naman ang mga lumipat na botante sa Puerto Princesa City mula sa ibang lugar.
