A delivery rider in Puerto Princesa City fell victim to a counterfeit currency scam over the weekend.
The incident occurred yesterday when Chester Delicano, a delivery rider, completed a delivery for a customer in Barangay San Miguel, this city. Little did he know that he would be handed a fake P1000 bill as payment.
Delicano took to social media to share his experience. In a post shared in Palawan Racing Facebook Group, he recounted the incident and urged customers to be considerate, especially during these challenging times when riders like him are working tirelessly to provide essential services.
In his online plea, Delicano emphasized that delivery riders are putting their safety on the line to ensure that customers receive their orders promptly.
“Now ko lang na notice nag-ayos na ako ng pera. May isang fake money akong natanggap sa isa sa mga customer (Barangay San Miguel area), sana naman maawa kayo. P355 na nga lang araw ko lolokohim niyo pa. Grabe ng bait ko sa inyo at pakikisama ko sa inyo,” Delicano said.
His post quickly gained traction, with many expressing their support and empathy for Delicano and the entire delivery rider community.
Fellow riders alike shared stories of their own experiences and echoed the call for mutual understanding and fairness in all transactions.
