Luzviminda proposes farm-to-market road for their village

The barangay council of Luzviminda has requested Congressman Gil Acosta Jr to allocate funds for the construction of a farm-to-market road (FMR) in Purok Rubber in their community.

Barangay Luzviminda is 35 kilometers away from the city center of Puerto Princesa.

Liga ng mga Barangay president and Luzviminda punong barangay Laddy Gemang said that the Sangguniang Barangay of Luzviminda last week passed a resolution for the construction of farm-to-market road.

He said that Purok Rubber is a thriving community that local residents, including farmers, farm workers, students and commuters will be benefited significantly of this proposed FMR project.

“Kining farm-to-market road, dako ni kaayo ug ikatabang sa mga tawo, kay mahimong dali labi na gyod sa pagdala sa mga produkto. Dako natong kalipay kung kini ihatag ni Cong” (This proposed farm-to-market road, this project has significant help to the people. It will ease their burden, especially in transporting local products. We will be happy if Cong [Acosta] will grant this,” Gemang said.

The proposed project is expected to help increase the economic activities in the area.

“The proposed Construction of FMR will provide convenience to residents of this barangay, especially farmers and farm owners in the area of are in dire need of such road to facilitate the transport of agricultural products as well as other crops, livestock, including marine and fishery products,” the Barangay Resolution reads.

The official further said that the proposed FMR will potentially uplift the social and economic conditions of the local residents that will provide jobs and income opportunities due to the improved condition of roads.
