Pagpapatupad ng speed limit sa kalsada, pinanukala ni Konsehal Damasco

Hiniling ni Konsehal Eljen Damasco sa Sangguniang Panlungsod sa kanyang privilege speech ngayong araw ng Martes, Mayo 2, kay Mayor Lucilo Bayron na maglabas ng isang Executive Order na magtatalaga ng speed limit sa lahat ng mga sasakyan sa ilalim ng RA 4136 sa National Highway sakop ng lungsod ng Puerto Princesa City.

Ito ay matapos mangyari ang malagim na aksidente na ikinasawi ng apat na pasahero ng isang colorum van at isa ring aksidente kahapon sa Barangay Irawan na ikinasawi rin ng isang indibidwal.

Dahil colorum ang nasabing van ay walang makukuha ang mga naging pasahero nito na insurance, ayon kay Damasco, dahil umano ay hindi naka rehistro sa Charing ang nasabing van at nilagyan lang ito ng pangalan na charing upang makapamasada.

Nagpanukala rin ng isang resolution si Konsehal Luis Marcaida lll, na humihiling sa DILG ng direktibang implementasyon sa PNP-PPC at Highway Patrol Group (HPG)na higpitan ang National Speed limit sa mga pribado at pampublikong sasakyan.

Sa tanggapan naman ng Puerto Princesa City Police Office, nakipag-ugnayan na sila sa Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) na agarang malagyan ng mga signages ang mga kalsada na madalas sa aksidente.
