Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) has established five thermal checkpoints all over the city in a bid to support the City Health Office (CHO) and Department of Health (DOH) in screening passengers.
Police Colonel Marion Balonglong, city police director, told Palawan Daily News (PDN) Saturday, that all persons entering Puerto Princesa must be thoroughly screened in order to ensure the health safety of those within the city.
As of the press time, Balonglong stated these checkpoints are in Barangays Napsan, Inagawan, and San Rafael, and in Sitio Sabang in Barangay Cabayugan.
He reiterated they will apprehend no one despite resistance, but made clear they will ensure that the health personnel could perform the screening on those people entering the city.
He said health personnel will be sending to hospitals those they have screened with high temperature for necessary health assessment and further measures.
Balonglong said while PPCPO is not the one who will screen the passengers entering Puerto Princesa, their officers are willing to extend their service in the best way possible for the benefit of the public.
