Batang Puerto Princesa, the biggest online community of Puerto Princesans on Facebook marked third year anniversary with the awarding of Gawad Tangay Tulungan in a simple ceremony held at the Children’s Park last Sept 8.
Recognizing selected individuals and organizations who were of big help during this pandemic. The Gawad Tangay Tulungan was categorized as; Tanggol Kalusugan for frontliners, Tanggol Pangkabuhayan for essential workers; Lingkod Lider for local public officials and leaders from civil society including people’s groups and association in the Baranggay, Boluntir Tangay Bayani for individual volunteers, and Tambay Bahay Hero for local residents who stayed at home to help curb the spread of the virus and yet extended help even when quarantined in their own residences.
“ ‘Pag nagkakaroon tayo ng pagsisikap kailangan pasalamatan natin, at kailangan natin pasalamatan at kilalanin ang kabutihan ng bawat isa, dahil wala pong bayang makakaligtas sa isang pandemya kung hindi tayo magsama-sama,” BPP Founder Majal Bautista said during her live message at the page.
Among who were given recognition this year are Bong Villanueva, PNS Batch 1987, Palawan Sound, Cheryl Cuyos, Ma. Lourdes Tatlonghari, Councilor Jimbo Maristela, Councilor Gerardo Dilig, Councilor Matthew Mendoza, Ernan Libao, Rommel Allan Llaniguez, Jose Pepito Bonete, Jr., Alpha Phi Omega Palawan, Tau Gamma Phi-Palawan, Dr. Dennis Ponce De Leon, Banker Moises Arzaga, Maria Fe Arzaga, Palawan Daily News and many more.
Prior to the award ceremony at the Children’s Park, the Batang Puerto Princesa team headed first that morning to City Jail for the gift giving program. Bautista said that the gifts and tokens as well as the food were all donated by BPP members here and abroad.
“Isang pagkilala sa ating paglago, 3 years old, 44 thousand, kung tutuusin pwede pa tayong dumami nang dumami, kaya lang mas maganda na masala natin ang ating membership para kung sino lang ang may puso at pagmamahal ‘yun lang ang manatili,” Bautista added.
