Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) has announced water services interruption within most of its service areas on Wednesday, September 11, due to its scheduled System Shutoff from 9pm to 5am.
It informed the public that the whole PPCWD service area will be affected except Brgy. Sta. Lourdes, Bucana and Iwahig.
The reasons of the shutoff include the replacement of damaged gate valve along Caramuran Bridge, South National Highway, in Brgy. Sta. Monica; replacement of damaged gate valve along Malvar St. and Talakitok St., Bgy. Mandaragat; tapping of 6” diameter pipeline to 16” diameter transmission line, in front of Sta. Monica National High School, Bgy. Sta. Monica; replacement of 400 mm diameter valve along Rosal Road beside PPCWD Central Booster Station, Bgy. Sta. Monica, PPCWD statement read.
“Total System Shut-Off means that PPCWD’s main transmission lines will be closed for a certain period to give way to the enumerated maintenance activities. Water services are expected to be interrupted all over PPCWD’s service area coverage. All CONSUMERS are advised to store water for the duration of the maintenance/expansion activities,” PPCWD further said.
It also informed the public, especially the water consumers who are experiencing intermittent water supply, to send a private message through social media of the exact location, contact number and other information.
PPCWD assured that they will immediately send personnel to inspect the area.
