“Being SK Chair is not easy. You need to give the needs and to solve the issue of your constituents lalo sa youth sector, but when this organization build by their own initiative, napagaan ang aming obligasyon dahil katuwang na namin sila [ASP] lalo na sa pagprotekta sa mga pawikan na siyang nagbibigay balanse sa ating ecosystem.

“Alimanguan Sagip Pawikans Association is one of the several youth associations in Barangay Alimanguan I have been helping. I had representatives from the PCSD and DENR come and educate them about the importance of turtle conservation and they also received training on handling and securing the nests to releasing them after they hatch. And I wanted to be there to witness the release of the first group of hatchlings from their protected nests,” ani Mayor Alvarez sa ipinadala nitong mensahe sa Palawan Daily News.
