PPC LGU, target na maglaan ng P500M pondo para sa COVID-19 vaccination program

Inanunsyo ni Mayor Lucilo Bayron sa isinagawang Flag Raising Ceremony ang pagbuo ng Puerto Princesa City COVID-19 Vaccine Program. Ayon sa alkalde, natukoy na nila ang mga mamumuno sa mga komite ng programa. Ang Research and Education Committee ay pamumunuan ni Dr. Adelito Posas na magsasagawa ng pag-aaral kung aling brand o mga brand ng vaccine ang pwedeng bilhin ng Puerto Princesa. Ang Procurement Committee na pangungunahan ni Engr. Jovenee Sagun ng City Planning Department. Ang Vaccination Committee na pangungunahan ni Dr. Ricardo Panganiban ng City Health Office na magsasagawa ng pagbabakuna. At ang Prioritization Commitee na pangungunahan ni Dr. Paul Saludez na tutukoy kung sino ang mga unang mabibigyan ng bakuna.

Sa ngayon umano ay may nakatabi nang P127M para sa pagbili ng bakuna pero target ng LGU na makakalap ng P500M na pondo para mabakunahan ang nasa 70% ng populasyon ng Puerto Princesa. Sa ngayon hindi na kasama ang Pfizer sa mga pinag-aaralang bilhin na bakuna dahil hindi kakayanin ng lungsod ang storage requiremnt para rito na -70°C.

Sa naunang panayam kay Dr. Dean Palanca, nagdesisyon umano ang Puerto Princesa City Government na maglaan ng sariling pondo para sa bakuna dahil hindi magiging prayoridad ng National Government ang MIMAROPA para sa pagbabakuna dahil sa mababang bilang ng kaso ng COVID-19.
