Asking ourselves in these trying times of pandemic, where nature needs healing, is the essence of the song “Desolation” by the band Signus, another upcoming rock band from Puerto Princesa City who wishes to be identified as a music artist that promotes original composed songs, and avoid doing cover music.
Desolation is already up in the Facebook page of the band last April 19 and it was produced by Solid Studio & Instrument rentals with recording from Island Sound Studios, mastered by Jayson of Raptured FAITH with Jay Grande as the videographer.
Signus four band members are Arjay Ace as the lead vocals, Sidney in guitar, Alexis Gabrielle as bassist, and another Alexis for the drums, they were formed in 2019 and they were known then as ‘Letters from Karma’. But when their former vocalist left the band last year, they decided to call themselves as Signus.
“How do we get it?, we just let the ideas pour in, and it was Alexis Gabrielle who mentioned Signus, and everybody liked it, it’s not like because Signus has a deeper meaning, it’s just that, we just like the word itself,” Drummer Alexis said.
For Alexis who personally wrote Desolation, it is his personal experience after staying in a quarantine facility along with his family after their return in the City, and the message is clear that we should stick to our plants/livestock’s for survival.
“The song is basically about this pandemic, at some point of our lives today we have to ask ourselves why is this happening to us? Maybe we as humanity have gone so far in wrecking our nature that gives us warning, that maybe the nature needs healing and this is the only answer,” Alexis explain.
Signus so far has recorded two songs and they intend to release online this summer, their YouTube channel is also in the pipeline as well as releasing in different music platforms soon.
