House of Beauty Palawan thru its owner Edrian Baldevieso formally donated one electric sewing machine to Samahan ng mga Kababaihan ng Brgy. Sta Monica in Puerto Princesa last Christmas Day, December 25. The said donation came from a fund collected from an online concert held last December 8 live at Palawan Daily News Facebook page.
The online show entitled “Online Fundraising Acoustic Concert” featuring brightest local talents who are winners of different singing contests like Bryle Villaluz, Mafe Jones, Xylein Herrera and Shairah Cervancia, with the participation of broadcaster turned artist Yoly Rojas-Dixon.
Baldevieso said he is grateful to majority of her family members and friends that share meaningful amount to buy the sewing machine, that the group badly needed in order to start their livelihood project, mostly for mothers who want to have extra income at the comforts of their home.
“Inisip ko kung ano ang pwede kong gawin para makatulong ako, kasi hindi naman pupwede na kahit wala ka ay wala ka ring maitutulong, meron po tayo maitutulong kung gugustuhin natin, kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan,” Baldevieso aka Tootsie Givana said during the turn over at the Covered court of Sta. Monica.
The Samahan ng mga Kababaihan is a seven year old group providing free livelihood training to all woman and mothers. The group just resumed operation two months ago after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, and they are thankful that they received a good Christmas gift this season.
“Kulang lang kami sa makina, kasi sa 18 na nag-graduate ng TESDA NCII halos nag-aagawan na sila, pero hindi pala malas ang 2020 kasi nagkaraoon ng time sa pag-aaral at nagkaroon pa tayo ng suwerte na lumapit sa atin. Masuwerte kami dahil kami ang napagakalooban ng inyong makina,” said by Ellen Gatchalian-Bracero, President of Samahan ng mga Kababaihan ng Sta. Monica.
