DSWD: Mag-ingat laban sa pekeng text messages

Mahigpit na pinag-iingat ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang mamamayan laban sa mga indibidwal o grupong nagsasagawa ng pangloloko sa kapwa partikular ang kumakalat na text messages na nagsasabing mayroong “unclaimed” relief allowances na ipinamimigay ang kagawaran.

Bagama’t wala pang naiiulat na kahalintulad na istilo ng pangloloko dito sa lalawigan, mayroon namanh gumagamit ng social media, emails, tawag o dili kaya ay text messages na kumakalat kung saan ay mangilan-ngilang nabiktima nguni’t tumanggi ang karamihan na magreklamo dahil sa pagtantong matunton ang mga salarin o may gawa nito.

Kaugnay nito, mariing binigyang diin ng DSWD walang anumang mensahe ang kagawaran hinggil sa anumang mga allowances, kasabay ng tagubilin na iwasang magbigay ng mga sensitibo at personal na impormasyon sa pamamagitan ng text message, email, o phone call.

 

Sa kabuuang babala ng DSWD, ito ay nagsasabing… “there is no such relief allowance that is being provided to seniors. However, the agency said that its financial assistance for individuals in crisis, including senior citizens, extended through the Department’s Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) located at the Central Office and in all DSWD Field Offices nationwide. CIU clients undergo an assessment to avail of the needed assistance.”
