Mahigit 500 PNP generals at colonels, nagsumite na ng courtesy resignation

Mahigit 500 na na mga heneral at koronel ng Philippine National Police ang nagsumite ng kanilang sulat ng pagbitiw bilang tugon sa panawagan ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Benhur Abalos. Mahigit 400 pa ang inaasahang magsusumite bago o sa araw ng deadline.

Pahayag ni PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr., mabilis ang naging pagtugon ng mga kasamahan nito sa ahensiya sa panawagan na courtesy resignation ng DILG sa mga police colonels at generals, kasabay pa rin ng kanyang mariing panawagan sa kanyang mga kasamahang opisyal na huwag matakot sa hamon lalo na at wala silang kinalaman sa transaksiyon ng iligal na droga sa PNP.

Kasabay nito, ipinahayag pa ni General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. na simula ngayong araw, ika-9 ng Enero ang balasahan sa ilang key positions sa Philippine National Police.

Ilan sa mga ito ang pagtatalaga kay Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr. bilang bagong director ng PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Papalitan ni Caramat si Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee na uupo sa maiiwang posisyon ni Caramat bilang Deputy Director for Intelligence.

Ang dalawang opisyal ay kapwa miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Tanglaw Diwa” Class of 1992.
