Puerto Princesa City, Philippines – April 28, 2025 — In line with the global commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Petrosphere Incorporated hosted a landmark webinar attended by nearly 500 participants from across the Philippines, Africa and the Middle East. The event, held virtually, reinforced the critical importance of cultivating a culture of safety that extends from homes to workplaces.

Expert-Led Discussions on Safety Culture and Climate Resilience

Dr. Harthwell C. Capistrano, seasoned Occupational Safety and Health Consultant, opened the session with a compelling talk on “Creating a Sustainable Workplace Safety Culture.” He emphasized the importance of building safety on three foundational pillars: Technical Safety, Safety Management Systems, and Human and Organizational Factors.

“Always remember that your life matters, your dreams matter, and the lives and dreams of everyone around you matter just as much,” Dr. Capistrano stated, reinforcing the value of every individual in promoting a shared culture of safety.

Following him was Engr. Cheryl Salvan Villanueva, Assistant Professor and President of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Antique Chapter, who spoke on “Climate Resilience in Occupational Safety.” Her message was clear: safety must evolve alongside environmental realities and take into account the broader impact of one’s actions within organizations.

A Homegrown Commitment to Safety

Engr. Carmela Joice N. Padilla, Operations Manager of Petrosphere and a dedicated safety practitioner, concluded the series of talks with her presentation titled “From Home to Workplace: A Commitment to Safety for Life.”

“Pag alis palang ng ating tahanan, pumapasok na agad ang safety culture,” she said, highlighting how safety is not just a policy but a way of life that begins at home.

Participant Praise and Positive Impact

The webinar received widespread acclaim from attendees, with many acknowledging its depth, relevance, and actionable content. Feedback through platforms such as TrustPilot and Google Reviews pointed to Petrosphere’s effectiveness in engaging audiences and delivering high-value learning.

“The speakers were competent and knowledgeable… The discussion was very detailed and insightful,” remarked Mark Decamon, a webinar participant.

“This training gave us full learning on what to do in workplace incidents… Safety Officers must comply with DOLE reporting,” shared Jelly Mae Martin-Villapando.

Other reviewers lauded the timeliness, organization, and clarity of the session, calling it “very informative” and a “big help in daily activities at the workplace.”

Continuing the Mission

Petrosphere’s CEO and President, Arch. Kent N. Janaban, affirmed the company’s ongoing mission to foster a strong, resilient workforce through education and compliance with the highest safety standards.

As Petrosphere continues to shape safety culture across sectors and geographies, events like these reinforce its role as a pioneering leader in occupational health, safety, and environmental training.
