Palawan’s commitment to community welfare and educational advancement took a significant step as Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates and Palawan State University (Palawan SU) President Dr. Ramon M. Docto signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, November 15, at the Governor’s Conference Room.
The MOU signifies a landmark collaboration between the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) and PSU’s College of Business and Accountancy.
This partnership aims to create a comprehensive welfare and development program for cooperatives in the province, concurrently facilitating training sessions and lectures by PCDO for PSU students pursuing Business Administration and Accountancy courses.
“I feel happy and at the same time excited that we were able to finally formalize our partnership with PSU, and I am eagerly looking towards a future of greater collaboration with them, particularly in the conduct of research, training, and other related studies,” said PCD Officer Gina S. Socrates.
PSU President Dr. Docto, on the other hand, conveyed appreciation for the deep-rooted relationship between PSU and the Provincial Government of Palawan.
“The relationship between PSU and the Provincial Government of Palawan is deep-rooted. I hope it becomes even more profound. Thank you for considering us as your partner,” he said.
Governor Socrates, hopeful for positive outcomes, meanwhile, is positive for the collaborative future of both entities.
“I hope this MOU will produce much good,” he said.
Witnessing the MOU signing were key figures including Provincial Cooperative Development Officer Gina S. Socrates, Provincial Administrator Atty. Jethro M. Palayon, and Dr. Evelyn B. Tomas, who is the Dean of PSU’s College of Business and Accountancy. Associate Dean Dr. Lynette T. Zambales and other esteemed PSU faculty members were also present.
